The University of Cape Town’s (UCT) Civil Engineering department made it two out of two while the Construction Economics and Management department chalked up their fourth consecutive win at the prestigious Greenovate Awards for final-year students.

Professor Zingoni’s latest book, Shell Structures in Civil and Mechanical Engineering, was launched in the New Engineering Building on 28 March 2018. The event was attended by more than 100 guests, who included representatives of national research institutes, engineering practitioners from industry, academics from local universities, as well as UCT staff and students. The book (464 pages), the first of its kind on the continent, has been published by ICE Publishing (Institution of Civil Engineers, London), and is an updated and expanded version of the original edition published by Thomas Telford in 1997.
